quick query: Is the event about how to run contests in general or about how to run contests using Kontests?

Hi guys could you just change your RSVP to No if you can't attend tonight? Then all other non attendees will get automatic notice about new spot. If you write comment here it goes to all 150 people who attend this event anyway and my inbox is full of unnecessary emails from this meetup now! Thanks and see you later! ;)

Unfortunately, I now have a meeting in Marble Arch tonight until 8pm, so wouldn't be able to get there until about 8.30pm. However, I'm assuming that Arnaud won't start his talk until about 7.30/8pm, so I'm still intending to come along - if Jessica (or anyone else) can confirm or deny this, it would be most appreciated. Thanks a lot. J

"You're on the waitlist" reads the RSVP up top. Has anybody got a spare plus one this evening? Or can no longer attend.. Thank you.

I guess you can't win them all. I found this presentation to be disappointing and not a patch on the standard of presentations I am used to from Social Media London. I don't think that Arnaud delivered. His talk only lasted 15mins and I think that says a lot about the info he shared. What a shame, such a great topic. I hope Social Media London will visit this subject matter again with a new speaker.

Brilliant talk, people, place and experience. I would definitely attend again.

It was really brief this time and with very general information and obvious tips. i had the perception that speaker was too nervous presenting, too confused with English words, therefore didn't fully understand the questions he was asked.

  • Jenita

Met some great people there, but the presentation itself was lacking.

  • Matt Alexander

Good first meetup for me. Enjoyed the talk, but thought it might be a bit more detailed. Some case studies would have been good. I was near the back, and couldn't really hear the questions, so need to make sure there is a roving mike on hand. Met some nice new people too and will be back.

  • Simon Nicholson

Enjoyed the evening and met some interesting people.

This was by far and away the worst Social Media London event in the last year. The talk was 20 minutes at best, contained no actual statistics to back up anything that was said, the speaker avoided questions that was asked, skipping over one regarding vote rigging by saying "we use Facebook" when the question directly asked if they have had trouble with people buying accounts on Facebook to vote. Which basically meant "Yes they have trouble, no they didn't know about it, no they do not know how to stop it (I.E validate accounts using automated analysis for bot-like or spam-like behaviour)". Apparently they charge 1000 euro for what is a web interface open an Open Graph Application that you could build yourself in less than two week or pay an overseas contractor to build for under £100 including profile analysis. I am glad it was not my first SML event as if it were, I would not be back. Hopefully we will never have this speaker again.

  • Siva Ganesamoorthy +1

This was my first meetup @ #smlondon, however, the speaker was lacking in knowledge on the subject matter and avoided questions by skimming them over. I think #smlondon should review their speaker base before inviting them to speak. If it were not for my my colleagues who have been to previous events, I probably wouldn't attend such an event again. This meetup lacked the depth of knowledge; the speaker certainly did not deliver on this occasion.
